The path
Description
Starting from the village of Farra di Soligo, follow path n. 3 along the orographic right of the “Rui Stort”, walking in a suggestive environment between high conglomerate walls. You reach the “Gor della Cuna” waterfall and then the “Little House” in Vanal locality. Through the Alpine route n. 4 you follow a stretch of the “Vedette” trail in an easterly direction passing through the “Xocco” pass, “Pian Serafin”, “Colesie” hills and “Col Vinal”, then immediately after San Martino pass you descend among the vineyards on the “Crepe” Trail. Bypassed the locality of “Col della Porchera”, the ring closes again in the small town of Farra di Soligo.
Curiosities
The small hill belt between Soligo and Col San Martino villages, consists of “San Gallo” hill, “La Porchera” locality, “San Giorgio” and “San Vigilio” hills, is called “Line of the small castles”, as there is news of human settlements dating back to the bronze edge, as evidenced by sporadic finds of ceramics right on the top. Being the first hills to overlook the plain, they have represented strategic observation points for centuries used up to the well-known phases of the Lombard and medieval periods.
