Nomination process
A path that started in 2008 and led after 11 years of commitment to the enrolment of the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene on the World Heritage List during the 43rd UNESCO Assembly in Baku.
2020
In January, the Association for the Protection of the UNESCO Heritage Hills of Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene is born, and in June the Scientific Committee that will support it in the development and enhancement of the site is established.
2019
Enrolment of the site to the World Heritage List during the 43rd UNESCO Assembly in Baku (Azerbaijan).
2018
“Referral” opinion by the 42th UNESCO Assembly with a request to modify and complete the Dossier.
2017
The Italian National Commission for UNESCO approves the candidacy. The process of evaluating the site is launched.
2016
Signing of the non-binding agreement between Veneto region and 28 municipalities to test a common urban planning regulation for the enhancement, protection and preservation of the site.
2014
Establishment of the Temporary Association (ATS) “Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene World Heritage Site”.
2010
Official start of the application process with the enrolment of the site on the Tentative List of the Ministry of Culture.
2009
Initiation of the application process through regional council approval.
2008
Presentation of the project for candidacy as a UNESCO World Heritage Site by the Consorzio di Tutela del Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG.
