Curiosities
Not far from the route, hidden among the Serre vineyards, stands the ancient country church dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, commonly known as “San Micél de le Serre”. The building refers to events of the thirteenth century linked to the nearby abbey of Follina and for centuries it was frequented by a community of monks who wanted to build other small units annexed to the central body of the church, thus giving rise to a hermitage, where the first techniques of vine cultivation and art were imparted herbal medicine. The hermitage had its maximum splendor between 1350 and 1600, while still maintaining a character of extreme simplicity. Inside the church you can admire some artistic works, including the fresco on the altar depicting “Madonna and Child”, St. Anthony and St. Michael defeating the devil.
