Curiosities
The locality of “Vazzola” and its hamlets have a strong winemaking tradition, so much so that they have given rise to a specific denomination, “Piave Malanotte DOCG”. It is a very characteristic wine that fits into the niche of connoisseurs on the market. It is obtained from “Raboso Piave” and to a lesser extent from “Raboso Veronese”, robust vines, capable of giving a very deep ruby colour. With a great structure and high acidity, it is characterized by the particular notes of tannin that make it particularly rustic, “angry” as indeed its name is. A part of the grapes is subjected to drying and the disciplinary requires aging for thirty-six months of which at least twelve in barrels and four in bottles. With the passage of time, the colour turns towards a garnet red hue with intense aromas, ideal for important red meats, game dishes and cheeses such as the denomination “Ubriaco del Piave” which arises from a particular maturation on the fermentation skins of this wine.
