Curiosities
In the 1960s, with the death of the beloved parish priest Giuseppe Faè, the population rose up following the decision of Bishop Albino Luciani to designate a successor, different from the one desired by the parishioners. The tension was so great that, on the day of his inauguration, the new priest found the door walled up and for a long time the town was guarded by the police. Albino Luciani, later known as Pope John Paul I, ordered the parish ban by taking the Blessed Sacrament from the church. The people of Montaner hamlet promoted a small schism, creating a community and an Orthodox church, which is still active today.
