The path
Description
From the town hall of Cison di Valmarino go up north to the church of “San Silvestro”, where you turn left to enter the countryside. Follow the path to the church of “San Gaetano” and continue until “Peroz” square. From here continue on a stretch of the “Scaletta” path and then turn towards the “Penne Mozze” Wood. The descent coincides with the “Via dell’Acqua” trail that you follow until you return to the center of the village.
Curiosities
Inaugurated in October 1972, the “Penne Mozze” wood is a Memorial Park that collects over 2400 wrought-iron steles in memory of the members of the Alpine Corp fallen during the war. The area is spread over 16 thousand square meters and is crossed by one network of trails dedicated to 14 members of the Alpine Corp from the province of Treviso awarded the gold medal. Since September 1998 a bell plays in their memory every evening.
